Christian Weber - Senior Project Engineer

MSc (Mining Engineering)

Christian is a mining engineer with over thirty-five years of experience in open-pit and underground mining, industrial mineral processing and construction works.

After graduation from the Mining University of Leoben in 1977, he was the responsible mine and plant manager both for the Breitenau magnesite mine (underground and open-pit) and also for some years for the Millstätteralpe underground magnesite mine and its cable way. During this time, he gained significant experience with the mining and processing of magnesite and associated industrial minerals in the positions as plant manager, as project manager and project engineer.  Additionally, he was also responsible for the Breitenau mine-rescue team.

He fulfilled the mine and plant manager role for the RTM Austria Rabenwald-Oberfeistritz operation from 2002 to 2010 and embraced the accountability for all technical issues concerning the open pit operation including the attached crushing facility and cable way. As a highlight, this role brought the responsibility for the massive southern pit expansion including the implementation of optimized mine design and ground control management measures.

He joined the teams as senior project engineer in early 2018.
